Sharepoint 2013 REST API – Internet Explorer can’t display feed

There is a simple way to consume data from Sharepoint 2013: a REST API! This means you can pull data from lists by using a web request, for example

http://server/site/_api/lists/getbytitle('listname')/items

Unfortunately, IE10 tries to handle this as some kind of RSS feed and returns an error message, because the returned data can’t be rendered as a standard RSS feed. There’s no way you can change that server-side, so just turn that little helper off in your local IE.

Internet Options => Content => Settings => uncheck the “Turn on feed reading view” option. Restart your browser (a simple reload won’t work..), now you should see the feed.
